Migraine Headaches can be debilitating and leave sufferers bedridden with pain, dizziness, and nausea for days at a time. Several research studies (shown HERE) prove that acupuncture is one of the best treatments for eliminating migraine headache pain. Repeated tests showed it even more effective than conventional drug therapies. One of the studies included MRI analysis of the brain in migraine patients. Analysis showed how migraine sufferers experience a decrease in functional connectivity between the frontal and temporal lobes in the brain. Acupuncture is shown to restore this connectivity within MRI studies. MRI analysis also showed how acupuncture seems to restore glycometabolism rates in several parts of the brain that were considered abnormal in migraine patients. This type of analysis helped explain WHY acupuncture is so effective in both relieving migraine pain and preventing future migraine attacks.
