Acupuncture is playing an increasing role in helping our current and retired military veterans in healing both physical and emotional wounds. Specifically, several research studies have proven that acupuncture is more effective than standard care for relieving symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ( PTSD). Recent research has shown how acupuncture can ALSO be used to successfully treat symptoms from Traumatic Brain Injuries(TBI); Specifically, headaches related to TBI's. A study shown HEREcompared both ear-based acupuncture (auricular acupuncture) and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture along side conventional medical care. Results showed that both forms of acupuncture reduced TBI based pain while conventional care has NO effect on pain reduction.
