As men age, their prostates enlarge. Over the age of 50, at least 40% of men will encounter prostatitis (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BBH) to some degree, and that percentage grows with every passing year. Classic medications such as terazosin can lead to symptoms including drowsiness, headaches, constipation, loss of appetite, exhaustion, dry eyes, nasal congestion and erectile dysfunction. A recent trial suggest that Acupuncture was as at least as effective as medication in treatment of BPH after a series of 16 acupuncture treatments. The beauty is that acupuncture has none of the negative side-effects of medication.
